what to do when Grandma visits...???

Grandma Liz arrived on Thursday afternoon for a ten day visit.

Hunter has been putting her through her paces with lots of truck playing, book reading and arts & crafts projects.

This morning Hunter decided that Grandma should experience the Mount Lorne Fire Department so off they went with Dad to explore...

Hunter's Kindergarten Graduation

It's official - we've graduated from Kindergarten!

It was much more of a significant event than I had thought - there was dancing, singing, official hat wearing & certificate receiving and then the all important cupcakes and juice!

Hunter had a great time and is now happy to be off for the summer...

Tarfu lake Camping

With the summer weather sticking around this weekend, we decided to head back to Tarfu Lake for a weekend of fishing, ATVing and general fun in the sun. The last time we were there it rained most of the time so we didn't get out on the water for anything...

We also found some amazing tracks from local visitors...

We got our amazing spot again (room for the trailer, the camper, the dogs, the ATV's, the soccer pitch and general running around!

We all played hookey on Friday and got out there by noon. We were all set up and out fishing later that afternoon and were rewarded with 2 Artic Grayling and 1 Lake Trout - big smiles and lots of fun for everyone (the scooby doo fishing rod was the big winner...).

Saturday was another beautiful day - started out running the dogs in the morning cool, fit in some soccer, some ATV adventure and back out on the lake for more fishing... Scooby Doo comes through again with 2 more Artic Grayling. We found this great inlet a 5 minute canoe paddle down the lake and basically stayed there our entire time - it was reliable all weekend long.

The big surprise of the day for Hunter was that his friend Daniel and mom Jane came out Saturday morning for the rest of the weekend. Hunter was thrilled when we got back to the campground and they were there - we hadn't told him they were coming so it definitely was a surprise. The boys were inseperable the rest of the weekend and we didn't have a single fight - a great success for all!

Daniel had never gone canoeing or ATVing before so he enjoyed all these new experiences. Hunter was thrilled to have someone along with him for all the fun stuff.

Sunday was more of the same - great weather, good fishing, lots of soccer fun along with the usual little boy activities of "trucks, trucks and more trucks..."
