We've just returned from a great week in California at Aunt Christy, Uncle Steve and Taeya's (http://qibaby.blogspot.com) house in Encinitas (San Diego). They have a posh place with 2 acres of fruit trees, an amazing play centre, HUGE house and pool. Perfect for those family visits to the sunshine!!!
We headed down on Dec 27th and had an overnight stay in Vancouver. Late arrival, early departure and stupidly long customs lines did not make for a great start however we continued in our optimism and
search for sunshine. The luck continued when 2 of our 4 bags did not arrive so a quick trip to Target on the way to the house on the hill was required.

Lots of noise but also lots of great visiting. 3 kids make for alot of noise and perpetual chaos (who's eating, whose sleeping, who is

We had no real plans for the vacation other than to hang out and visit. We definitely accomplished that as well as a few pool swims, a trip to the beach, lots of playing on the playset and a trip to Legoland, which was definitely a highlight for Hunter.It was a bit of a system shocker to arrive home Friday night to the land of snow, dark and cold... The trade-offs between physical beauty and remoteness vs warmth and access to normal services. Is there that perfect combination of both somewhere???
