Mother Nature gave us a wonderful gift - the weather this week has been unseasonably warm and we made the most of it! Friday right after school we all headed off to the Community Centre for "ski club" - there is a kids cross country ski program that Hunter participates in when it intrigues him (goes with his lack of interest in structured things). We all took our skiis and had some fun playing "what time is it Mr Wolf?" and "follow the leader".
While there we also enjoyed the ice that Tim and Hunter played a major role in. It was great to be out skating under the lights on a beautiful evening. Hunter used his hockey stick for the first time with his skates and it was a hit!
Tim had to work on Saturday but Hunter and I managed to get back to the rink for some more fun with the mild weather.
Saturday night the Community Centre hosted it's first "Coffee House" and it was a great success. There was an open mike, which many people (and kids) participated in, lots of great food & drink, and then a set show by Joe Bishop. Lots of great music and a wonderful community environment.

Sunday saw us head out to the mountains to an area called Log Cabin, which is just before the Canadian Border Crossing at Fraser on the way to Skagway, Alaska (about an hour from home). We had been out here in March with the snowmobiles and really enjoyed the scenery. With the warmer weather many of the lakes are still unfrozen so we headed off down the train tracks to the Lake Bennett station - an old station that has been revitalized as part of the extension of the White Pass Railway up to Carcross.
