Olympic snowboarding here we come!

After watching snowboarding at the Olympics last week, Hunter developed a keen interest in the sport (which he had never actually seen before).

One day after school last week we hauled Tim's snowboard out, strapped Hunter in (an accident waiting to happen!) and had fun learning about balance on the small toboggan hill next to the house. 30 minutes later Hunter had worked himself up to the top of the hill and wanted to go by himself (fearless at 6!).

We had so much fun that mom decided a proper lesson was in order to be safe and figure out if there was longer term interest. Hunter and I headed off to our local ski hill (http://www.mountsima.com/) on Sunday and had a great afternoon. Hunter had a 60 minute lesson to get the basics under his belt while I got my bearings again (it's only been 6 years). We then spent the rest of the afternoon playing together, with smiles and giggles all around!

Hunter picked everything up quickly and was a star, both in his lesson and by the end of our afternoon. He even mastered the rope tow - something I have terrible memories of as a kid...We had so much fun we've made plans to go back again this weekend.
