Our neighbour Ralf came over on Sunday with his backhoe to pull out some stumps from the front driveway to enable the construction of our... polebarn (according to Tim) OR Dad & Hunter's workshop (according to Hunter).
Hunter sat and watched the backhoe for quite some time on Sunday until it broke a hydraulic hose and had to shut down.
Ralf came back over last night to repair the hose and finish the stump pulling. It was just before bedtime when Ralf fired the backhoe up so there was definitely no going to sleep and missing the good stuff.
We got into our jammies, got some pillows and blankets and an appropriate number of trucks (varies by the moment) and settled ourselves into the porch swing on our upper balcony where we had clear views of the "construction site" and all the great stuff.
It was a great fall evening activity, all bundled up watching a backhoe in your very own yard!
