Fun in the desert

As weather goes, we continue the wacky whirlwind... Tuesday started at zero and was another day of melt. Tuesday night brought snow and Wednesday morning we woke up to 4 inches of snow on top of the ice...

We decided to head off for some afternoon fun today and it was well worth it! Just down the road from us is the Carcross Desert (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carcross_Desert) and it has been on our list of places to play for four years now.

We loaded up the snowmobiles and spent a few hours exploring and playing on the dunes in all the recent snow. We especially had a great time on one hill that had wonderful windblown cornices that were just made for jumping off!
This one got a little away on Tim (note the little red body flying above the snow) and both he and Hunter got a bit of a scare when the cornice broke and they were not ready. Luckily everyone came out OK.
