This has been the best summer weather that we have experienced in our 4 years in the Yukon. There is not a single thing to complain about. The forest fires are quite active but have stayed away from populated areas, and we will cross our fingers that this trend continues.A few weeks ago we headed down the road to Carcross to our local "beach" on Lake Bennett. It was a beautiful sunny day and at least 25c.
We've also been enjoying the fire pit and the chance to get lots of work around the house done with all the sunshine (compared to the rain of prior years).
Ever since we came home from vacation, Hunter has been in "fireman" mode and is rarely seen without some component of his outfit (hat, jacket, pants, boots, fire radio, fire tool belt). He has even been lobbying quite hard to get to sign up as a volunteer fireman since they are looking for people!
