The labour day long weekend in Northern Canada is definitely a different event than in southern canada... rather than wringing out the last few hours of summer time fun, we find ourselves firing up the furnace, pulling out the gardens and starting the checklist to ensure that we are finishing off the last few tasks before the snow flies. The leaves have started to turn and we are now consistently below zero every night.
We took advantage of a beautiful fall weekend and headed out on a canoe trip on Annie Lake, a local lake about 15 minutes down the road from us. Hunter is on a big fishing kick so we also packed Dad and Hunter's fishing rods.
Lots of fun was had by everyone and thankfully we all stayed dry!
