We headed out the door at 8pm June 30th with the goal of spending 2 weeks wandering around alaska. The only firm plans we had were to spend the 4th of July in McCarthy Kenecott, to go salmon fishing in Valdez, and to pick up some kayaks in Wasilla.We have the summer road-trip down pat. It really helps that we have a 25 foot enclosed trailer to bring along all the toys and miscellaneous other things. This is definitely not low impact/go-light camping!!!
We made it about 4 hours up the road and pulled into the Congdon Creek campground for the night.
A stop in White River to check out the old army truck and other miscellaneous items revealed a new old swamp boat!
We came across a great Canada Day BBQ in Beaver Creek - complete with RCMP, volunteer fire and border crossing guards!
