Bryce Canyon National Park

http://www.nps.gov/brca

Bryce Canyon National Park was initially thought of as a "hole in the ground" when it was first found. In a land of slickrock canyons and mountaintops, it is awe inspiring to see these basin's full of hoodoos, grottos and spires. Amazing views around every corner.

We managed to fit in a few short hikes but Hunter was more interested in the pool at the hotel - careful about the standards you set...

Bryce transcends 2000 ft of elevation (summit is 7700 ft compared to Banff at 4300 ft) and has 3 distinct climatic zones and all the different vegetation and wildlife to go with it.
