Today is Mom's birthday
Last year at this time we stayed in a 4 star hotel (also known as Aunt Christy & Uncle Steve's house) outside San Diego and Mom and Dad went for a hot air balloon ride.
The year before I came Mom and Dad were out surfing in Tofino and staying at the Wikaninish Inn.
Mom likes to make a big deal out of her birthday and has taken to planning trips so that the pressure is off Dad - seems like everyone wins.
This year we started out the day at the Holiday Inn (comes with indoor pool & internet) in Green River, Utah (2 truck stops & 10 motel town), headed off for some kid-sized hiking in Goblin Valley, and are capping off the day with a stay at the 2 star Paradise Best Western Hotel (comes with indoor pool & internet) in Beaver, Utah (1 truck stop and not much else) and had take-out dinner from "Dan's Garden of Eat'n"...
Oh how things have changed with a 3 year old :)
